HOW TO WITH DEENA FROM PFYT
So this is the first of my guest posts with people that inspire me in many ways, I have asked Deena- designer of 'Penny for your Thoughts' Jewellery to give us a HOW TO with one of her favourite pieces.
A little inspiration or some ideas to try yourself in making jewellery for those rainy days inside.....
Here we go!

Here is Deena sitting in her studio.
I have to have music blaring , i believe you have to be in the right mood to create ,what you feel reflects on your final product .... i find the more melancholy you are the more AMAZING the outcome !!

Lay plan of all tools and pieces needed.
The materials
STEP 1- thread 25 white beads onto your two fold cord using your threader adding charms along the way.
- size 6/0 white czech glass seed beads
- sharp scissors
- flat nose pliers for grabbing the cord
- a piece of tiger tail folded over (this is your threader) WHICH MAKES BEADING OH SO EASY!
- some kind of dark cord (the waxier the better)
- a measuring tape
- your fave charms

STEP 3- once knotting is finished add one more bead through both tails (this is your adjustable component).
PHOTO 5
STEP 4- ok so you are almost done , finish your bracelet by adding at least 3 beads (smallest to largest) to each tail to lock in the adjuster tie off with a knot at each end to secure.
PHOTO 6
STEP 5- add a shell at the bottom , slide down the adjusting bead and add to your wrist .
PHOTO 7
STEP 6- now style your worry beads however you like or with some other PFYT's jewellery.
You now own a piece of PFYT history - the worry beads were an addition to our first collection and have not left my line-up since . this piece will wear with time and you will grow to LOVE it as much as it LOVE's you back xxx PFYT

I love this but how are you meant to tie knots between the beads? Im confused hehe
ReplyDeleteI agree with gypsy_dreaming..I love this bracelet diy, but the knotting between beads is confusing..(: and also, what is a tiger tail lol
ReplyDeleteAgree with both girls! Sooo confusing!!!
ReplyDeleteAs you bead you knot. and tigers tail is beading wire you buy in the bead isle.
